The Speakers of Parliament of the Member States of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov in the format of the 15^th Plenary Session of the TURKPA. Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova took part in that meeting.

The Head of State described their meeting as a vivid example of the friendship and mutual trust amongst the brotherly states before saying that Kyrgyzstan is interested in a continued development of the co-operation within the TURKPA. According to him, the work that the Assembly does serves to strengthen ties amongst the brotherly countries as well as to deepen trade, economic, transport, energy, digital and humanitarian co-operation.

In her remarks at the meeting, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova expressed contentment with being in the fraternal Kyrgyzstan for the 15^th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, and thanked for the generous care and hospitality. She emphasised that the socio-economic successes attained by Kyrgyzstan were firstly the outcome of wise administration and intense work. The Speakers as representatives of the brotherly countries are glad at the successes of Kyrgyzstan, she said.

The significance of the TURKPA for development of inter-parliamentary co-operation, promotion of integration developments and expansion of the fraternal states’ ties was underlined during the meeting. Besides, there was an exchange of opinions about the issues of the continued strengthening of the ties within the Organisation of Turkic States and of preserving the shared values and national identity of the Turkic peoples.
