The 1st Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis since 10 March 2020.

Mr Huseynli was born in Baku on 8 October 1968 and graduated from the Law Chair of the Baku State University. He holds a PhD in Law and commands the Russian and English languages.

He is a member of the World Azerbaijanis’ Co-ordination Council and the National Co-ordinator of the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians against Corruption.

Mr Huseynli was a session secretary, an advisor and then an assistant to the chair in the Supreme Court of the Azerbaijan Republic starting in 1991. He joined the Presidential Administration of the Azerbaijan Republic as a specialist in 1995 and was Assistant to the Chair of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic during 1996-2000.

Mr Huseynli is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party and was elected a Member of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th convocations.

He has chaired the Milli Majlis committee for legal policy and state-building since 20 June 2003; he is also Chair of the working group for Azerbaijani-Hungarian Interparliamentary connections.

Mr Huseynli co-chairs the Interparliamentary commission for bilateral co-operation between the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Mr Huseynli is married and has 2 children.

The Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan - The state legislative power branch organ is a unicameral parliament that has 125 MPs. The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
