11th Summit of G20 Speakers of Parliament is Over

The 11th Summit of Speakers of Parliament of the Group of Twenty (G20) countries, held in the city of Cape Town of the Republic of South Africa, has been concluded. Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova who was on a working visit to this country to participate in the summit attended the closing ceremony of the event.
Those speaking at the ceremony pointed up the successful organisation of the Summit and emphasised the parliamentarians' discussion at the event of many important and highly topical themes as well as the conduct of an effective exchange of views.
Thoko Didiza, Chairwoman of the National Assembly of the Summit’s host, the Republic of South Africa, expressed gratitude to Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement Sahiba Gafarova for her participation in the event.
Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairman of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe Jacob Mudenda, Chairwoman of the National Assembly of RSA Thoko Didiza and Head of the Parliamentary Dlegation of Brazil Jack Rocha.
The importance of the P20 Summit and of the matters discussed at it was emphasised at the meetings; the prospects of inter–parliamentary and interstate relations were talked about, too.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova expressed to Chairwoman of the National Assembly of RSA Thoko Didiza the appreciation of the Summit’s high–level conduct and the elevated value given to her participation in it as Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan and Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement.
It will be remembered that as part of her working visit to the Republic of South Africa Speaker Sahiba Gafarova delivered speeches at the discussions themed ‘Strengthening Sustainability and Responses to Cataclysms’ at the opening ceremony and in the format of the Summit.
