Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has had a meeting with Chairwoman of the Senate of Australia Sue Lines on the margins of the 11^th Summit of G20 Speakers of Parliament in the city of Capetown.

The significance of such platforms as the 11^th Summit of the G20 Speakers of Parliament in terms of the opportunities to hold meetings and discuss issues of bilateral and multilateral co-operation was noted at the meeting.

The parties exchanged views regarding strengthening of the ties between our countries and parliaments. As was emphasised, Azerbaijan and Australia are friendly countries despite the geographical distance. The existing political ties between our countries predetermine the strengthening of contacts between the parliaments as well. It was said that the interaction of our parliaments has an important and positive impact on the further development of relations between our states.

The meeting also saw an exchange of opinions about other topics of shared interest.
