The parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova arrived in the Vatican on 25 April to take part in the funeral ceremony for the Pope Francis.

The delegation of the Milli Majlis were welcomed at the international airport of Rome by the ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Holy See Ilgar Mukhtarov, our ambassador to Italy Rashad Aslanov and officials of the Vatican.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis will be representing our country at the funeral ceremony at the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore on 26 April. Also, she will attend the farewell proceedings for the Pope.
