Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Meets with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev

During her working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with the country's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. 

It was said at the meeting held on the margins of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union with satisfaction that the current high level of relations between our countries. They emphasised the particular role of both nations' Presidents in the evolution of these ties. 

It was stated that high-level visits held a special significance for further advancing relations between our countries. The discussions highlighted how these visits and close contacts create substantial opportunities to strengthen relations between the two friendly and fraternal nations. 

They expressed contentment with that our parliaments maintain extensive co-operation which reflects the friendly and brotherly relations between our countries and peoples. The importance of this co-operation for further strengthening contacts between our citizens was noted duly.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis commended the excellent organisation of the 150th IPU Assembly in Uzbekistan's capital and provided information about the fourth conference of the Non-Aligned Movement's Parliamentary Network. 

The meeting also saw an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
