Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Meets with Speaker of House of Councillors of Morocco

Within the framework of her working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has had a meeting with Speaker of the House of Counsellors of the Kingdom of Morocco Sidi Mohammed Ould Ar-Rashid.

At their meeting the Speakers heard each other's views on the relations between our states and parliaments. It was remarked that the relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco are based on mutual respect, and the progress in political relations was emphasised. They also touched upon bilateral co-operation in international organisations and their counties' mutual support at various platforms.

The role of reciprocal visits and their contribution to the deepening of relations between the two nations were emphasised, too.

The substancial role of the parliaments' co-operation in deepening the bilateral relations of the countries was underscored as well. Speaker of the Mill Majlis Sahiba Gafarova recalled with pleasure her official visit to Morocco, sayın that such trips and contacts contributed to our relationship. Also, the Speakers exchanged opinions about broadening collaboration amongst both sides' MPs and parliamentary committees.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova informed her colleague about the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement in minute detail, and mentioned the steps taken by the Azerbaijani Chairmanship to strengthen the institutional framework of the Network.

 Speaker of the House of Councillors Sidi Mohammed Ould Ar-Rashid stressed the importance his country attaches to co-operation with the Parliamentary Network and commended such platforms on their inputs in the solution of international issues.

Also, there was a discussion that covered other matters of shared interest.
