Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova Meets with President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has had a meeting with President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili in the course of her official visit to that country.
The President of Georgia, who welcomed the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan cordially, expressed a belief that her visit was bound to contribute to a continued progress of our inter-state and inter-parliamentary relations.
They exchanged views about various aspects of the strategic partnership between our friendly countries and voiced pleasure at the energetic advancement of the relations that rest on a solid historical foundation.
Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova thanked for the generous hospitality of the hosts and conveyed to President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili the greetings of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The President of Georgia thanked the President of Azerbaijan and asked for his own greetings to be conveyed in return.
After that, the conversation covered the role of the two parliaments in the development of our countries’ relations; they expressed satisfaction with the broadening of the ties between the legislatures of the two countries in the spirit of our inter-state relations. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova touched upon the significance of the Memorandum of Co-operation that the two parliaments signed yesterday, adding that she was certain: that document would make an input in the continuing expansion of our connexions.
The conversation gravitated also on the successful co-operation, internationally and regionally alike. President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili thanked Azerbaijan for the support extended to his country.
Further, they talked about the successful co-operation between our countries in trilateral format and underscored the advantages of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Georgia trilateral co-operation format for our countries as well as for the region as a whole.
There was then an exchange of opinions about the current state of affairs in the region.
Other matters of shared interest were talked over as well at the meeting.
