Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting on 16 May with Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Co-operation Organisation (PAECO) Tahir Huseyn who had arrived in Baku to join the forthcoming Third General Conference of the entity.

Our country finds it very important to keep up the collaboration with the PAECO and is interested in its operational strengthening as much as it is in bilateral and multilateral co-operation with the other member-states, Sahiba Gafarova remarked during the conversation. In confirmation of that, she mentioned Azerbaijan’s having ratified the PAECO Charter back in 2021.

Besides, Mrs Gafarova talked about Azerbaijan hosting the PAECO Third General Conference after which Azerbaijan will take over the chairmanship of the Organisation, intending, at that, to endeavour to strengthen the PAECO operations during the chairmanship tenure.

Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Co-operation Organisation Tahir Huseyn said his thanks for this meeting and the hospitality extended to him before praising the organisational work carried out by the Milli Majlis about the conduct of the PAECO Third General Conference. Further, Mr Huseyn voiced satisfaction with the high standards set by the interaction between Azerbaijan and the institution headed by him.
