Azerbaijani MPs to Attend PACE Committees’ Meetings

The chairman of the Milli Majlis international and inter-parliamentary relations committee, leader of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE Samad Seyidov and the delegation’s Nigyar Arpadarai will join the meeting of the PACE committee on migration, refugees and displaced persons in Paris on 13 May.

There, the PACE committee will look at the humanitarian outcomes of internal and external migration in the region consequent to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the impact of migration and sheltering issues on acceptance of migrants and their rights in pre-election campaigns and other topics. A number of organisational tasks will be perused as well.

Samad Seyidov will also take part in the meeting of the PACE committee on political affairs and democracy in Chania, Greece on 16-17 May.

That meeting will be about such subjects as the asymmetry of European security in the face of new challenges, preservation of peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, promotion of the European prospects for the Eastern Balkans, political parties’ role in fostering diversity and inclusiveness (the new free society charter) and so on. Besides, there are going to be diversely-vectored debates to revolve round the part for the Council of Europe to play in international armed conflicts.
