Prosecutor General of Supreme Court of Republic of Türkiye Visits Milli Majlis

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met on 7 April with a delegation led by Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Türkiye Muhsin Şentürk, currently visiting in our country to discuss inter-institutional co-operation issues.

It was remarked during the meeting noted that the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are advancing on the basis of friendship and brotherhood, all in keeping with the ‘One nation, two states’ dictum of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The interstate relations, which are of a strategic alliance nature, were broached and the special role of the brotherly relations between the Heads of State in the progress of the Azerbaijani-Turkish ties was emphasised as well.

The relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries was addressed in the conversation; also, contentment was expressed with the existing effective co-operation between the Parliaments, especially so, between the Working Groups. The importance of the joint activities of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan and Türkiye upon various parliamentary co-operation platforms was high-lit. it was said that such platforms contributed to peace, stability and collaboration in the region.

As she touched upon the fruitful co-operation between the corresponding bodies of the two fraternal countries, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova placed a great emphasis on the significance of the Memorandum of Co-operation which had been signed between the Prosecutor Generals’ Offices of the two countries in 2021. She also lauded highly the endeavours of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organisation of Turkic States, established in the format of multilateral c-operation.

Thanking for the warm reception given him, Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Türkiye Muhsin Şentürk remarked that the relations of the two countries were developing in alignment with the bilateral co-operation agenda defined by the Heads of State, and encompassed every area and vector.

Addressing the processes unfolding globally and regionally, the guest told of the roles of the Leaders of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, stressing whilst doing so their dependable parts as leaders and intermediaries of their nations and states as well as in the context of ensuring international peace, security and co-operation.

The guest was also informed at the meeting of the effective co-operation between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
