Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Vladislav Tatarinovich, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus who is visiting in our country for the International Parliamentary Conference dedicated to the 30^th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova congratulated Vladislav Tatarinovich on his election as Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly and expressed contentment with the Belarusian Delegation’s participation in this international event.

Vladislav Tatarinovich offered congratulations on the high organisational standards set by the International Parliamentary Conference. He passed to Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova the congratulatory letter on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan from Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova and conveyed her greetings as well.

As was remarked at the meeting, the relations between our countries advance successfully and reliant on mutual confidence and friendship; the essential role of the high-level relationship of our Heads of State in deepening the ties was underscored.

It was said that the high-level links between our countries and peoples also generated a momentum behind the development of the relations between our Parliaments.

It was remarked at the meeting that, alongside the high-mark bilateral relations between our Parliaments, the legislative bodies also co-operate with success in international parliamentary organisations. In particular, Belarus’ having acquired the status of observer in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly during the chairmanship of it by the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan was mentioned with satisfaction. Besides, the work done by the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement established at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was praised highly.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis requested that her greetings be conveyed to the Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic and the Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives Igor Sergeenko.

The meeting also saw an exchange of views upon other topics of shared interest.
