The Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Member of the Parliament for the Shamkir Urban Election District No 102 Sahiba Gafarova held another elector surgery in the videoconference mode on 24 April.

A number of elector applications from the town of Shamkir as well as from the Province’s villages of Duzghishlig, Tezekend and Mahmudlu were heard in the course of the video-reception. Some of the matters raised in appeals were related to the Executive Authority representatives in consideration of their localised nature. Investigative queries regarding another portion of the appeals were communicated to the appropriate authorities whilst the citizens were supplied with exhaustive explanations.

At the meeting, voters were informed about the priorities of the development policy being carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Their attention was also drawn to the work being carried out in the provinces, including the Shamkir Province, as parts of the relevant state programmes. It was particularly emphasised that the citizens of the country are at the heart of Azerbaijan's state policy and that the measures being taken are aimed at further improving the material well-being of the people.

Besides, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova made the citizens aware of the legislative activities of the Milli Majlis and of the steps being taken to ensure continued expansion of parliamentary diplomacy.
