GNAT Delegation Go to Alley of Honour, Martyrs’ Lane and Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial

The visiting delegation led by Chairman of the Defence Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Hulusi Akar went to the Alley of Honour on 29 January to pay homage in memoriam our people’s National Leader, architect and builder of the modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev. A wreath was installed in front of his tombstone and the latter itself was adorned with fresh flowers.

The delegation also went to the Martyrs’ Lane to pay tribute to the heroic sons of the Motherland who had sacrificed their lives for her freedom and sovereignty, and to put fresh flowers on the graves. Besides, the delegation walked up to the Eternal Flame Memorial.

As they watched the cityscape from the highest point of Baku, the guests listened to a story of the history of the Martyrs’ Lane and about the building work and arrangement under way around the capital.

Next, the delegation moved to the Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial honouring the memory of the Turkish military fallen in the battle for liberation of Baku in 1918.

Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for Defence, Security and Anti-Corruption Ziyafet Asgarov and other officials accompanied the delegation of the GNAT.
