The parliamentary delegation led by Secretary General of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Talip Uzun, whilst visiting in Azerbaijan, travelled to Shusha in the company of Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Farid Hajiyev and other officials on 19 October.

On arrival in Shusha the guests listened to a narrative about the story of the town, its condition during the years of occupation and its current rebuilding under the direct control of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva as well as about the current restoration of the town’s history monuments and sites, and the plans waiting to be carried into life.

Next, the Turkish parliamentary delegation called at an art show dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Grand Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Turkish parliamentarians also went to the Saatli and Yukhari Govkhar mosques, the Shusha Stronghold Gates and the Chidir Plain. On the Plain they were told that our heroic warriors had reached it by scaling steep rocky faces to wrench the town from the invaders’ grip at the cost of their own lives and blood spilled in battle. Now, the Chidir Plain is again a venue for spectacular events as it used to be in the olden days.
