Talking to a Delegation of the Knesset

Chairman of the Milli Majlis International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Committee Samad Seyidov met with the visiting delegation of the Knesset led by Chairman of the Israeli Parliament’s Foreign Relations and Defence Committee Yuli-Yoel Edelstein on 5 June.

Samad Seyidov greeted the guests and said he was glad to see them in the Milli Majlis. Then, he talked about developing bilateral relations in political, trading, economic, humanitarian and other areas. The recent visit of the President of Israel to Azerbaijan and his meeting with the Azerbaijani President had given a further impetus to the growth of our co-operation, while the opening of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel had taken our relations to a completely new level qualitatively, Mr Seyidov was saying.

Head of the Azerbaijan-Israeli inter-parliamentary connexions working group Anatoly Rafailov and members of the above-mentioned parliamentary committee Asim Mollazade, Rasim Musabeyov, Sevinj Fataliyeva and Nigyar Arpadarai spoke of the sincere friendship of our peoples, trade and economic ties, the Jews living in Azerbaijan like brothers, taking our co-operation further and strengthening inter-parliamentary relations

Chairman of the Knesset’s Foreign Relations and Defence Committee Yuli-Yoel Edelstein shared the impressions from his visit to Azerbaijan. He also talked about our countries’ friendship and strengthening the inter-legislature links including those between our friendship groups.

The other participants of this meeting included the aforementioned Knesset committee’s Head of Diplomatic Affairs Sarah Zwebner, a committee member Ram Ben Barak and Israel’s ambassador in Baku George Deek.
