At the National Leader Heydar Aliyev Centenary International Conference
A jubilee international conference celebrating the centenary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and co-arranged by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Baku Branch of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development and Parliamentarism, and Suffrage Protection for Citizens (IIMDD) of the CIS IPA Council’s Secretariat took place in Baku on 1 June.

The participants of the international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, organised jointly by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of the CIS IPA Secretariat, visited the tomb of the Great Leader on June 1.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova told the British PM’s Trade Envoy on Azerbaijan Baroness Emma Nicholson as they met on 31 May that she was recalling fondly their previous meeting and Mrs Gafarova’s own visits to the UK. Mrs Gafarova also pointed out the high level of the Azerbaijani-British interaction, especially in the economic, trading and energy areas.
