Extraordinary Session of Milli Majlis Continues
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova presided over the sitting of the extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis on 25 June. First, the Chair of the Milli Majlis congratulated the assembly on the 26th of Day – the Day of the Armed Forces of the Azerbaijan Republic, stressing that the people of Azerbaijan were going to celebrate this day with great joy and pride this year.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova chaired the concluding plenary sitting of the spring session of the Milli Majlis on 31 May. Adoption of a six-item agenda was followed by a discussion of the issues du jour.
At an Ordinary Plenary Sitting of the Milli Majlis
Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova presided over the ordinary plenary sitting of the Parliament held on 27 May and begun with the adoption of a fifteen-item agenda. The issues du jour were talked over after the agenda had been adopted.

The scheduled plenary sitting of the Parliament of 25 May chaired by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova began with the adoption of an eight-item agenda. The MPs Anar Iskandarov, Elman Nasirov, Siyavush Novruzov, Malahat Ibrahimghizi, Razi Nurullayev, Igbal Mammadov, Ali Masimli, Rauf Aliyev, Jeyhun Mammadov, Sahib Aliyev, Zahid Oruj and Sattar Mehbaliyev talked about their constituents’ and constituencies’ issues and brought up several related matters as the current issues were discussed. They also voiced relevant proposals.
At the Ordinary Sitting of the Milli Majlis
Before the sitting proper began, the Chair of the Milli Majlis told the House of the visit of the delegation led by her to the Italian Republic on 17-19 May. That visit had seen conversations with Chair of the Italian Senate Ms Maria Elisabetta Alberti-Kasellati, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Roberto Fico, Italy’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Luigi Di Mario, State Secretary of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation and Co-Chairman of the joint Interstate Commission for Economic Co-operation between the Azerbaijan Republic and the Italian Republic Manlio Di Stefano and members of the Italy-Azerbaijan Working Group as well as the Italy-Azerbaijan Friendship Association.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova reacted to the recent claims of the fictitious ‘Armenian genocide’ at the scheduled plenary session of the Parliament held on 27 April. Madame Chair said that the claims of a genocide to which Armenians were allegedly subjected 106 years ago had caused tensions between Turkey and the United States of America.

Cabinet of Ministers’ Annual Report is Heard at a Milli Majlis Sitting
Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova announced while opening the scheduled spring-session plenum on 16 March that that was the fifth sitting and that, pursuant to the Constitution, the Cabinet of Ministers was going to report on its work done during 2020 today.
